Breastfeeding for the first 6 months of life is the ideal start for babies to be breastfeed.
The breast is a compound of secreting glands, which varies in proportions of fatty glands and connecting tissues firmly arranged in lobes.
However, the properties and components of breast milk varies in composition:
With the time of the day, the fat and protein content is usually lower in the morning and high in the afternoon.

In response to maternal nutrition, ( note that, the total amount of fat is not in anyway influenced by diet, and the fat that appears in the milk will be influenced by what the mother eats ).

Furthermore, the variation in breast milk is based on individual make-up. Take note that the most dramatic changes in the composition of milk occurs during the course of breastfeeding the baby. At the beginning of the feed, babies receives a high volume of relatively low fat, also known as ( The fore milk ). As the feeding progresses, the volume of milk decreases but the proportion of fat sometimes increases to as much as five times of the initial value.
The ability of the baby to obtain this fat-milk is not determined by the length of time he spends at the breast but, the quality of attachment.
The 54th World Health Assembly which meet in Geneva in May 2001, affirmed the importance of exclusive breastfeeding for 6months. ( The new resolution agenda item 13.1, infant and young child nutrition, Article 34/45 in para.2 (4) urged member states to: support exclusive breastfeeding for 6months as a global public health recommendation ).

We can not indeed over look the issue of proper care for the new born. Although, young mothers and prospective mothers of today counts breastfeeding as a Borden on motherhood.
